As of January 1, 2004, all Canadian businesses must respect the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPED).

Shoppers Confidential Inc. is absolutely committed to protecting your privacy. We do not and will not ever sell, lend, give, provide, disseminate or transmit your personal information to any person or any company for marketing purposes, or any other purpose aside from our mystery shopping.

You can visit our website without giving us any information about yourself.  You should be aware that when you visit Shoppers Confidential Inc. and other websites, you leave a trail of data.  While we don't know who you are, some things we do know are:

• The domain you came from
• The time you arrived
• Which pages you accessed

We do not use these logs for any purpose, marketing or otherwise.  The only time we collect any personal information about you is when you apply to be a mystery shopper, create a client account, or when you complete and submit an on-line application.

Why we collect information

Your information is used only to schedule, assign, and pay you for mystery shops. The only persons that have access to your information are our report reviewers, schedulers, supervisors, and when we develop new software; our database programmer.

What specific information we collect, and why

The information we keep on you consists of the following:

·          Your name, address, and E-mail address, so we may notify you of mystery shops or shopping results.

·          Your PayPal E-mail address, so you may receive payment.

·          Additional demographic information that you volunteered to provide us (eye glasses, clothing size, age) so we may offer you special shops (such as opticians, plus sized stores, petite stores, etc.)

·          A record of the shops and the results you have completed and submitted.

Exceptions to disclosure

Shoppers Confidential may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to:

a.        conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Shoppers Confidential Inc. or the site;

b.        protect and defend the rights or property of Shoppers Confidential Inc., or

c.        act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of Shoppers Confidential Inc. employees, independent contractors, users of Shoppers Confidential Inc. products or services, or members of the public.

Furthermore, should the tax authorities (or any other governmental body) ever ask us for the names of mystery shoppers and amounts they were paid, this information will be provided.

How we secure your information

Shoppers Confidential Inc. is committed to protecting the security of your personal information.  We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure.

Any information provide by you is stored in a secure location on our database, and is protected by firewalls, on computers with passwords. Only those who schedule, review or assign shops have access to your personal information.

Access to your Personal Information

According to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, you are entitled to receive a copy of the information we have on file for you.

Should you wish to receive a copy of all your personal information that we have on file, please send your request to our main office at #1-772 Queen St. S, Kitchener, ON N2M 1A4 to the attention of "Resources Optimization Director".

Pursuant to the PIPED Act, you will be charged a nominal fee of $5.00CDN for your request. You will be notified with instructions to remit payment before we process your request.

We have 30 days to acknowledge your inquiry according to PIPED, typically you should receive your correspondence within two weeks.

Shoppers Confidential Inc. reserves the right and may occasionally update this privacy statement.  For material changes to this statement, Shoppers Confidential Inc. will notify you via “Special Notes” in the Shopper’s Lounge.  Client's will receive notification by mail or email.
